In line with Corniche's involvement with the arts, Corniche Pictures is active in the financing, production and distribution of independent films.
In the summer of 2008, Corniche took a significant stake in Le Pacte, the distribution company established in 2007 by respected French distributor Jean Labadie. When Corniche's investment in Le Pacte was announced, the Hollywood Reporter described Labadie as 'having released more Palme d'Or winning films than just about any other French distributor.' Together Le Pacte and Corniche intend to distribute around a dozen films a year and as well as theatre releases they will concentrate on developing video, television and international sales. Two of Le Pacte's most significant releases of 2008 were Waltz with Bashir, Ari Folman's award winning film about life during the 1982 Israeli invasion of Lebanon and Gomorra, the film of Roberto Savaino's controversial book about organized crime in Naples. Gomorra won the Grand Prix du Jury while Waltz with Bashir has been nominated for an Oscar and a Bafta, won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, and won the Directors Guild of America Award for a documentary.
In 2011 Le Pacte had 2 films in the Official Selection of the 64th Festival de Cannes, Habemus Papam by 2001 Palme d'Or winner Nanni Moretti, and Drive by Nicolas Winding Refn which won Best Director.
